Lend A Hand

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, it is more important than ever to practice compassion and generosity. Here are eight great opportunities to give back on the East End.

  • Contributions to food pantries—a lifeline to some of the East End’s most vulnerable populations—are a wonderful way to uplift our community. Long Island Cares, Inc. distributes food through a network of member agencies located in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Make a donation here, or use their online directory to support food banks directly, like Heart of the Hamptons, the East Hampton Food Pantry, or the Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry.
  • The Clamshell Foundation has launched the ‘$5 For Food’ campaign, a simple, tax-deductible way to make an impact on those facing financial hardship and food insecurity during our crisis.
  • The hip Sag Harbor taco joint K Pasa is doing their part to aid healthcare professionals at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Support small businesses like K Pasa by ordering takeout or delivery online, then choose one of the “Feed The Front Line” options to supply a meal to nurses ($10 donation) or the entire ICU team ($250 donation).
  • The East End Food Institute promotes and advocates for local food producers. They have unveiled an innovative Virtual Farmer’s Market, which offers ready-to-eat entrees, beverages, pantry staples and more from vendors in the Hamptons.
  • Hamptons style icon Joey Wölffer, owner of Joey Wölffer boutique and Wölffer Estate Vineyard, began making indigo tie-dye clothing with her daughters as a hobby during quarantine. She transformed this pastime into a charitable project, Wölffer Girls, which sells fun, colorful tie-dye apparel online. 100% of proceeds go to Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, a safe haven for children of working parents which provides food, online learning and home-delivered meals to senior citizens.
  • Stoney Clover Lane’s whimsical destination patches are an ode to a myriad of Hamptons landmarks, like Gurney’s resorts and the Montauk lighthouse. For the first time, these patches are available for online purchase, with all proceeds supporting the noble work of organizations like Feeding America and the Southampton Hospital Foundation.
  • Support the East End’s beloved cultural institutions like Guild Hall, Hamptons Film Fest, The Parrish Art Museum and Sag Harbor Cinema by taking part in virtual exhibitions and screenings. Not only will your participation help these community pillars thrive, these engaging learning sessions will give your brain a much needed workout during quarantine.
  • Stonybrook Southampton’s dedicated team of doctors, nurses and staff are risking their lives and working diligently to keep our community safe. Contribute to the hospital’s Healthcare Heroes Fund, which ensures ample staffing and quality medical equipment, technology and essential supplies.
