Project Lyme brought together a vibrant community of Lyme disease advocates, survivors, medical professionals and supporters at its Project Lyme Gala to unite people in the fight against tick-borne illness. The gala, held at the elegant Gotham Hall, raised critical awareness and funding for research, education and prevention efforts, shining a spotlight on the ongoing challenges faced by the Lyme disease community.
The event was emceed by Purist’s own Cristina Cuomo, with inspiring speeches by honorees Olivia Abrams and Emily Levy and Board Chair Ali Moresco, as they shared their personal journeys and commitment to finding solutions for this growing health crisis. Keynote speaker Olivia Flowers gave a moving speech in memory of her brother, Conner Flowers, while her parents looked on. Conner suffered through a lifelong battle with neuropsychiatric Lyme disease and ultimately passed away in 2023. Along with speakers and stories, guests were treated to an evening of fine dining while auctioneer Lydia Fenet slammed her gavel in support of Project Lyme’s mission to combat tick-borne illnesses.
The evening was a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of the Lyme community, offering hope for a healthier future.
