Art connects us across generations and creates meaningful space for expression. Guided by this vision, Southampton Arts Center, in collaboration with the Southampton School District, is launching a new arts education initiative, kicking off with the inaugural student exhibition First Light: Celebrating Student Artists of Southampton.

The showcased works will include contributions from art teachers including Andrew DeLeo, Jennifer Charron, Pamela Collins and Justine Moody. Throughout the exhibition’s run, visitors can engage in interactive experiences, including a children’s scavenger hunt, as well as artistic expressions that will allow visitors to be featured in the exhibition. Throughout this three-month period, SAC will expand its Kids Programs, offering additional worships for their youngest artists. They will also provide student membership cards to all 1,200 students in the Southampton District.

The exhibition receptions on February 7, from 4-6PM, and February 11, from 4PM-7PM, will feature a variety of interactive activities, refreshments and a children’s Valentine’s Day collage workshop led by Deborah Acquino.

The program was made possible through the generosity of Loews Chairman of the Board James Tisch and Merryl Tisch, former Chancellor of the New York State Board of Regents. southamptonartscenter.org
