Melissa and Marc Ganzi hosted the 11th Annual World Snow Polo Championships in Rio Grande Park, Aspen, Colorado. Purist provided an elegant tent, created by Paul Cathers of Cathers Home Furniture + Interior Design, along the field for superb views of the matches, with a backdrop of Aspen Mountain.
Special guests at the 2023 event included Shaun White, Nina Dobrev, Zoey Deutch, Mission Impossible star Pom Klementieff, Kendall Jenner, Anna Kendrick, Naiomi Glasses, the artist in residence at Ralph Lauren, and more.
The Casablanca polo team, led by Grant Ganzi, Nic Roldan and Hilario Figueras, won the event and took home the coveted trophy this year. Other world-class participants were top-ranked player Adolfo Cambiaso, as well as Nacho Figueras and Marc Ganzi.
Sponsors for the Purist tent at Snow Polo were Cathers Home Furniture + Interior Design and Aura (sustainable living residences at Base Village Snowmass by East West Partners). Folwell Studio’s powerful sculptures by artist Gail Folwell were on display with “Take the Lead,” a maquette piece chosen for the entrance to the new Western Stock Show Complex in Denver. Extraordinary photographer Guadalupe Laiz graced the walls with images from her Horses of Iceland series. Aspen native Lindsey Thornburg displayed her coat designs with Pendleton fabrics and added a taste of Yellowstone to the weekend. Guests received gifts from Evolve Together’s line of daily essentials skin care and lip balm in biodegradable packaging.
Proceeds from this year’s event, as in the past, benefit the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation and Valley View Hospital. @aspensnowpolo
