Launched in 2022, Altima Caviar has quickly become one of the most bespoke caviar brands. It’s popping up everywhere: Served at the finest restaurants from LA to NY, and offered at local Palm Beach favorites like Cod & Capers Seafood and Mary Mahoney.

The brand founder, Maribel Alvarez, a renowned publicist for luxury brands, has honed a sixth sense for knowing what people crave. “Caviar is a superfood that is not only delicious, but strikes that balance between healthy and decadent,” says Alvarez. “It’s steeped in tremendous history and ritual.”

After working for other caviar brands, Alvarez saw the need to simplify the buying process. Sourcing the finest sturgeon eggs from the world’s top sustainable farms, she personally visits the farms and vets their product through Michelin-starred chefs. “My goal is to provide the highest quality product at the best value, with the most welcoming and inclusive service.”

Integrative health and wellness coach Ivey Leidy is one of Altima Caviar’s many fans. Leidy’s favorite thing about caviar is all the health benefits that come with it. Just 1 ounce of caviar contains 236 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin B12. Caviar is rich in omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, which fight inflammation, disease, depression and anxiety; improve brain, eye, joint and bone health; improve sleep; and support soft, glowing, wrinkle-free skin. Caviar is also rich in selenium, a mineral that boosts the immune system. “I skip the frills and enjoy caviar by itself or on a thin slice of cucumber,” says Leidy.

Whether served over blini, on potato chips or sprinkled atop avocado toast—it’s all good. Even straight out of the blue tin, with an Altima mother-of pearl-spoon. altimacaviar.com
