
An incredible evening of generosity and purpose took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as Gateway for Cancer Research hosted its 34th Annual Cures Gala at the private Barrington Hills, Illinois estate of co-chairs Richard J Stephenson and Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson. The black-tie event brought together philanthropists, patients and their families, as well as advocates dedicated to transforming cancer care through innovation, compassion and hope.
Throughout the elegant evening, guests celebrated Gateway’s mission to fund early-phase clinical research that delivers new treatment options and renewed optimism to patients. The gala raised more than $2.5 million, directly supporting Phase I and II clinical trials that bring groundbreaking therapies to those in need.
Attendees were treated to captivating performances by 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster, Katharine McPhee Foster, Richard Marx, and The Village People, with the evening emceed by Broadway star Erich Bergen, creating an atmosphere of celebration and inspiration that reflected the heart of Gateway’s work.
Since its founding, Gateway for Cancer Research has raised over $124 million, supporting 248 early-phase trials and improving the lives of more than 30,000 patients and families worldwide.
