Proust Questionnaire with…My Son, Mario Cuomo

When I asked my son 11-year-old son Mario to fill out our Proust questionnaire, I wasn't too surprised when homework and kale got a thumbs down. But I was astonished--and touched--by his insight and wisdom.

If you could be a superhero, which one would you be and why? Superman, because he has laser-heat vision and can burn through anything and he is super strong.

If you could have a meal with any five characters in history, living or dead, who would you choose? Jesus Christ, God, Adam and Eve, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you? Don’t hold in a fart.

What’s your favorite word? Mushroom.

What’s your favorite thing to cook? Cashew milk with honey at bedtime.

Worst job you’ve ever had? Doing homework.

Least favorite food? Kale.

What’s your favorite meal? Mushroom soup.

If you could change something about the world to make it better, what would you change? I would take away anger and disappointment.

Favorite form of communication? Talking.

What advice would you give your younger self? Think before you act.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to invent something. Oh, and a dad.
