PURIST Sponsors Veterinarians International 4th Annual Gala “Wild at Heart” in Bridgehampton, NY – August 6th, 2018
Wild at Heart, this year’s Veterinarians International (VI) fundraising gala, welcomed over 220 luminaries and philanthropists and was a record year for the organization – raising over $200,000. The annual VI event raises awareness about the crucial connection between animal and human health and generates funding for its diverse programs around the world.
The Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club was transformed into something truly beautiful that reflected the passion of the cause. Legendary oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earl presented author and ecologist Dr. Carl Safina the VI Presidential Award for his innovative theories exploring the relationship between humans and animals. Both scientists spoke passionately about their discoveries and the need for humans to have empathy for animals to ensure our survival and well-being. Jessica Hollander and Sacha Lehto were the gala co-chairs while VI Ambassador and animal advocate Christine Evangelista served as Master of Ceremonies.
Christie Brinkley hosted the oceanfront cocktail reception where guests enjoyed Bellissima organic sparkling wines and spirits followed by a sustainably produced, locally-sourced meal with wines provided by Vias Wine Importers. DJ Alexandra Richards and Jay Schneiderman and Friends wowed the crowd during a luxe beach bonfire and dance party featuring top-rated whiskey and cigars, courtesy of Davidoff of Geneva. The Collective You brought glamour to the night treating guests to custom portraits.
