Fire & Ice Gala in Aspen

March 16-17, 2023
On Thursday, March 16th and Friday, March 17th, philanthropists Amy and Gary Green alongside members of the 100 Billion Meals team hosted the first annual Fire & Ice gala in Aspen, Colorado. A star-studded crowd gathered to enjoy two evenings of curated food, cocktails, auctions, and surprise performances. The event welcomed celebrities, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs who helped raise funds in support of 100 Billion Meals’ commitment to fight world hunger with the support of UNICEF and Stronger Foundations. The 100 Billion Meals Challenge is an initiative spearheaded by Tony Robbins, bringing individuals, corporations, and organizations together to mobilize money, messaging, and moments to address an imperative real-world need: ending mass hunger and food insecurity.

The event kicked off with an après ski cocktail party at Lugano Diamonds, where guests including Maria Buccellati, Dori Cooperman, Shawn Pereira and more enjoyed a cocktail reception while a percentage of sales were donated to the 100 Billion Meals Challenge. Following the welcome party, guests enjoyed a private dinner at the exclusive Snow Lodge at the St Regis Aspen. The Greens toasted guests including professional boxer Evander Holyfield, Darryl McDaniels of RUN DMC, Leatham Stern, Paul Cuvee and Josie Conseco with a heartwarming welcome speech. “Our passion is to bring good people from all over together to have a greater understanding of the importance of ending mass hunger and food insecurity.” Said Amy Green, chair member and ambassador of 100 billion Meals. The evening also included speeches from Joelle Jarvis, 100 Billion Meals founder and executives from the Stronger Foundations and UNICEF.

The main event (Fire & Ice Gala) took place on top of Aspen Mountain’s members club, ASPENX where A-listers and Aspen philanthropists were greeted by fire dancers and a candle installation by Luminara Candles. Hosts Amy and Gary Green were joined by co-hosts Joelle Jarvis, Ed Martin, and Scott Lewis from 100 Billion Meals, alongside Stronger Foundations and UNICEF. In addition, close friends of the Greens joined them on the red-carpet including Holly Hunt, Hassan Kaoss, Whitney McLaughlin, Genna Moe, Erica Pelosini, Maria Buccellati, Josie Conseco and DJ duo Bedouin. Fire & Ice Gala guests enjoyed The Caviar Company bump station along with Casa del Sol specialty cocktails throughout the evening. Hostess, Amy Green welcomed guests, “All living beings are in our heart and our heart is in all living beings. When we realize our interconnectedness, we can open our boundless heart.” Comedian Josh Nasar along with auctioneer Colin McArthur led the live auction in which the crowd of philanthropists raised hundreds of thousands of dollars with matching funds through UNICEF to help end child malnutrition and hunger. To close out the evening, iconic hip-hop legend, Darryl McDaniels and DJ Charlie Chan from Run-DMC surprised guests with an epic performance of some of their greatest hits such as “It’s Tricky” and “Walk This Way”.

The Greens welcomed celebrities, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs to the first ever Fire & Ice gala who helped raise funds with the help of UNICEF and the Stronger Foundation in support of 100 Billion Meals’ commitment to fight world hunger and help organizations across the globe by partnering with those most proven to be effective in combating global hunger. Proceeds from the event will also support local Aspen food banks including Food Bank of The Rockies and LIFT-UP Aspen Food Pantry.
