Rebirth & Renewal
In Tanzania with my daughter Carolina at my favorite slow safari spot, Forest ChemChem, where protection of wildlife is the priority. Check out our new Mindful Travel section for the best in travel retreats around the world.

People often ask me if anything actually works toward that Benjamin Button fantasy we all have of aging backward. In the eight years since I launched Purist and have since become a certified nutritionist, I have seen the latest in remedies, cleanses, lasers, healing and antiaging devices and while some things slow down the aging process, ramp up vitality and bring ailing cells back to a state of good health, better known as wellness, there is one thing that I’ve observed that has defied gravity, so to speak.

Spirituality. I know that is a very loose term, but let me clarify: Living a more spiritual existence has been a noticeable source of that higher frequency showing up on someone’s aura. Karmic patterning—ancient patterns of behavior that are repeated and imprinted on one’s soul—is something to discover on this quest. We have to ask ourselves why we sometimes do the things that might not serve us well over and over again. Better yet, ask yourself how you can be the best version of yourself in this lifetime. And doing your best can influence the collective unconscious to operate at an elevated frequency, too. If you can feel the low vibration in the world, then you know a shift needs to take place. That shift or work begins within each of us.

If we operate from a place where we acknowledge that our souls have lived multiple existences, the journey our soul has been on can become a wonderful discovery. In energy healer Ashley Dye’s story “Book of Life,” about the Akashic Records—the stories of one’s soul stored in the “ether” or Akashic realm—she hopes to provide you with a basic understanding of the blueprint of a soul’s journey. By looking inward and revealing any traumas in a past life, one’s soul can be cleared so as not to repeat those traumas or cause suffering in this life. Almost everyone needs karmic cleansing for their missteps and for the affronts done to them in a past life, not to mention in this lifetime. By unveiling the root cause of our emotional and mental state, we can begin to heal and thus refresh our physical layers. We can fortify the physical in a noticeable way by turning on the light inside.

So, I’m digging into my pocket and pulling out a penny I can throw into the fountain of youth that will ripple out into the universe. Keep digging into your karmic well-being and see what you can heal. Let Purist be your guide.
