Bags That Clean the Seas

Sustainable bag brand Bybba deepens its mission to fight the global plastic crisis through a new partnership with 4Ocean.

Sustainable bag brand Bybba has been turning the tides on reusable bags since its 2021 launch. Signaling another wave in its evolution, the brand is taking its commitment to fighting the global plastic crisis one step further as it announces a dynamic partnership with 4Ocean, a global organization dedicated to preventing and removing plastic from oceans, rivers and coastlines.

With every bag sold, Bybba is funding the removal of 1 pound of plastic through the efforts of 4Ocean’s team and infrastructure. Their giving applies to all products across all divisions of the business, which include direct to consumer, wholesale and B2B. “Our goal is to leave the planet better off than when we started, keeping our oceans clean for generations to come, one bag at a time. We’re creating ways to reduce, reuse and, now, reward with every purchase,” says Pam Seidman, founder and CEO of Bybba.

Seidman started Bybba (pronounced BEE’-bah, it’s an acronym for Bring Your Bag Back Around) with a vision around creating a new concept and level of quality within the reusable bag market. With consumers leaning more and more into sustainable practices at retail checkout and alongside states regulating plastic and single-use bags, Seidman is aiming to define a new tier within the compact bag category.

With a focus on a clean, modern aesthetic and materials sourced from the ocean, the brand also takes color inspiration from the ocean, with all naming conventions and design details linked to the sea and coastal references. Bybba bags can be found at retailers including Bloomingdale’s, Equinox, J.Crew and specialty stores nationwide.

In support of the partnership, dedicated, limited-edition branded merchandising will be sold exclusively on bybba.com and 4ocean.com, including two foldaway styles (The Balos, $63, and The Little Sur, $38). For the holidays, curated gift sets will be added to the assortment.
