PURIST: What drove you from practicing as an MD to founding a medically based skincare membership?
ARLEEN LAMBA: My own skin. I developed adult-onset acne, and even as a physician I couldn’t find care that was both medically sound and sustainable. It was either a luxury spa treatment with no science or a dermatology appointment you waited months for. As an anesthesiologist, I’d spent my career on precision and protocols, so I built what was missing, a skin gym. GLO30 is a place you show up to every month, with medical expertise behind every treatment, because consistency is what actually gets results.
Why is continuity so central to protecting and caring for skin long-term?
Because your skin renews itself roughly every month. A single treatment helps that cycle once. Monthly care helps every cycle. Think of it like the gym. One great workout doesn’t change your body, but showing up consistently does. That’s why we call GLO30 “The Health Club For Your Skin.” The results come from consistency.
What are some signs people see in their skin without realizing the body might be flagging a bigger issue?
Your skin is your largest organ, and it’s constantly communicating what’s happening inside your body. One of the clearest messages it sends is inflammation. Redness that won’t calm down, breakouts that keep coming back, puffiness, sensitivity, or skin that suddenly reacts to products it used to tolerate are all signs that something is stressing your system. That could be poor sleep, chronic stress, diet, sun exposure, or a skin barrier that’s been over-scrubbed and over-treated.
Calming inflammation is one of the core things our SmartGLO Facial treatments target, and because they change every month, we can adjust to what your skin is dealing with right now. And if a change is sudden or doesn’t go away, see your doctor. Sometimes your skin is flagging something bigger.

Why does AI-driven precision matter right now, given environmental stressors and a changing climate?
Because no two people’s skin is dealing with the same thing, and it’s not dealing with the same thing month to month either. Heat waves, precipitation, pollution, and longer UV seasons all change what your skin needs. GLOria AI, our proprietary skin-scanning technology, lets us measure what’s actually happening instead of guessing. It gives your skin a GLO Zone score. Precision means we treat the skin you have today, not the skin you had last season.
What seasonal influences do you pay closest attention to as we move into the colder months?
Moisture loss is the big one. Cold air outside and dry indoor heat pull water out of the skin and weaken the barrier. That’s when we see more redness, flaking, and sensitivity. Hot showers make it worse. I also remind people that UV doesn’t take winter off, so keep wearing sunscreen. On the upside, cooler months are a great time to treat pigment and texture, since there’s less sun exposure to work against. That’s why our SmartGLO Facial treatments rotate seasonally. This month’s is the Pumpkin Haldi (Turmeric) Soufflé.
What’s most important for women to understand about how skin changes through different stages of life?
That your skin follows your hormones, and none of these changes are your fault. Stress raises cortisol, which can trigger breakouts and slow healing. Postpartum, many women see melasma, dryness, or acne as hormones recalibrate. In perimenopause and menopause, estrogen declines, and collagen goes with it. Skin gets thinner, drier, and loses firmness faster. So your routine should evolve with you. What worked at 25 won’t work at 50. Adjust your strategy.
Are there small lifestyle changes you’d recommend to make skin health an everyday habit?
Think of it as turning down the heat. Most skin problems, from breakouts to redness to early aging, are driven by inflammation, so your daily habits should calm your skin, not provoke it. Wear sunscreen every morning, because UV is one of the biggest inflammatory triggers there is. Wash your face at night by using a double cleansing system. Protect your sleep, because that’s when your skin repairs and your stress hormones come down. Go easy on sugar and alcohol, which can show up on your face as breakouts and flushing. And stop over-exfoliating and over-layering. A few products, used consistently, will always calm skin better than ten products fighting each other. Use fewer products, with a better strategy. glo30.com
