The St. Regis Aspen ballroom sparkled during Best Buddies International’s All That Glitters Gala, an unforgettable evening celebrating inclusion, friendship, and opportunity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Founder Anthony Kennedy Shriver, carrying forward the extraordinary legacy of his mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics, delivered an inspiring address just days before America’s 250th birthday. His message centered on inclusion, dignity, and the importance of ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
A highlight of the evening was Shriver’s heartfelt tribute to the 2026 Best Buddies of the Year nominees, recognizing their dedication to fundraising, advocacy, and advancing the organization’s mission:

The evening also featured moving performances, including a beautiful cello recital and an inspiring speech from a Best Buddies participant who now works for the organization.
Perhaps the most memorable aspect of the evening was the warm welcome guests received from Best Buddies participants themselves. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to share their personal stories created an atmosphere of genuine connection that touched everyone in attendance. An amazing $900,000 was raised during the energetic live auction.

Among the evening’s BBI team were Omaar Yemini, Brooks Bryant, and four-time triathlon winner Leanda Cave, along with many supporters, including Bohemian Bier Spa owners Dasha and Chris Balaslovo, U.S. Ski Team member Wylie Maple, and John and Jackie Bucksbaum.
